Project Profiles

Scope and what PEERS delivered.

Four-Unit Townhouse Development

Worcester, MANew ResidentialCompleted

Four new townhouse units of approximately 1,400 SF each, three bedrooms and three baths per unit. PEERS provided the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction documents and permit set, and served as engineer of record through construction. The design follows an all-electric pathway under the City's energy code requirements.

  • HVAC & ventilation design
  • Electrical power & lighting
  • Plumbing design
  • Permit set
  • Construction administration
  • 780 CMR construction control

Plumbing delivered through a PEERS specialty design partner, coordinated under a single PEERS contract.

Multifamily Heating Electrification Evaluation

Lynn, MAMultifamily ResidentialCompleted

A four-story, twelve-apartment building heated by electric resistance baseboard with no central cooling. PEERS evaluated two heat pump strategies, individual apartment systems and a heat-recovery VRF system served floor by floor, along with dedicated corridor ventilation through an energy recovery ventilator. The evaluation addressed A2L refrigerant charge limits and the leak detection and mitigation ventilation they can require, checked the building's electrical service and apartment panels against each option, and summarized budget cost ranges and utility incentive considerations so the owner could choose a path with confidence.

  • Existing systems review
  • Heat pump options analysis
  • A2L refrigerant compliance
  • Electrical capacity review
  • Budget costs & incentives

Mechanical and electrical engineering evaluation provided as M&E consultant to the project's prime engineer.

Multifamily Mechanical Review & Engineer of Record

Worcester, MAMultifamily ResidentialCompleted

A residential building whose construction had stalled and resumed under its existing permit. PEERS reviewed the existing mechanical drawings for code compliance, served as mechanical engineer of record for the remainder of construction, and supported the building department review.

  • Mechanical code review
  • Engineer of record
  • Building department support
  • Submittals & RFIs
  • Site visits

Fire Pump Electrical Assessment

MassachusettsCommercialCompleted

The building team planned to replace an existing 125 HP fire pump with a 150 HP unit and needed to know whether the building's power systems could support it.

  • Normal & emergency source analysis
  • Generator capacity check
  • Motor starting & breaker sizing
  • Engineering report

Generator Load Study, Apartment Conversion

Cambridge, MAResidential ConversionCompleted

An existing building being converted to apartments needed to confirm what its standby generator was already carrying and whether it could take on new loads, including a fire pump. PEERS surveyed the generator and its downstream connections, documented the existing load, evaluated the proposed additions, and delivered a narrative report with findings and recommendations.

  • Site survey
  • Existing load documentation
  • Added-load evaluation
  • Narrative report
